Learn about diabetes risk factors and complications, as well as how to manage diabetes through better nutrition and physical activity by participating in the Diabetes Education Empowerment Program (DEEP). This session of six free classes begins Thursday, July 24 at 5:30 p.m. and continues at the same time on consecutive Thursdays: July 31, Aug. 7, Aug. 14, Aug. 21, and Aug. 28.

Topics include how to use a glucose meter correctly, how to access community resources, and how to build a partnership with their diabetes healthcare team. DEEP is based on national diabetes care and self-management recommendations and guidelines.

At this session’s six free classes, you will:
– Find out how diabetes affects your body
– Make sense of your blood sugar numbers
new balance trainers
– Meet others who have diabetes
– Have fun learning in a small group through games, activities, and supportive conversations
