Accredited by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, we are a premiere Cystic Fibrosis Center serving Northeast Texas. Our center follows the stringent standards of the CF Foundation. We use approved guidelines, and our pulmonologists are supported by a core team of dieticians, social workers, nurses, and respiratory therapists who have experience treating children with cystic fibrosis.
Every child treated in our center receives a comprehensive evaluation to assess medical needs. To test for cystic fibrosis, we perform a complete history check, physical exam, and diagnostic studies.
IWe follow up with every child diagnosed with cystic fibrosis, monitoring their growth, response to treatment, and any complications that might occur. These follow-up appointments occur every three months and can include:
- Physician assessments
- Meeting with nutritionist and/or social worker
- Laboratory testing
- Annual blood work and chest x-rays
- Pulmonary function testing
We provide cystic fibrosis education and training that prepares patients and their families for self-care. Support services are available, and we will help identify these resources for you. Learn more about cystic fibrosis and its treatment through the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
