Pediatric Grand Rounds is an educational forum on pediatric issues for physicians, nurses, and allied health care professionals and is a cooperative effort between East Texas Medical Center, Trinity Mother Frances and The University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler. This one hour program is generally held the 3rd Thursday of each month at 12:00 noon. A complimentary light luncheon is served. The location rotates between the three hospitals.

Concussion Management in the Younger Athlete
Speaker: Jon-Michael Cline, MD
Location: Biomedical Research Auditorium at UT Health Northeast
Dr. Cline, Sports Medicine Specialist at CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances, will discuss the recognition and appropriate management of a concussion in the younger athlete; discuss practical assessments of memory and orientation; identify the acute and long-terms adverse effects of concussion on the developing brain; and summarize counseling for the family of a child or adolescent who has had a concussion and wishes to return to sports.
