March Seminar with Dr. Don Wells
Dense Breasts Can Increase Your Risk for Breast Cancer
hosted by University Health Clinic
Tuesday, March 28 | 6 p.m.
UT Tyler – Ornelas Activity Center
3402 Old Omen Road | Tyler
If you’ve ever been told you have dense breast tissue, this seminar may be a lifesaver. Research has shown that dense breasts can be up to six times more likely to develop cancer. The density also makes it difficult to detect lumps, cysts, and other conditions with mammography alone.
Until recently, technology was the limiting factor in the early detection of breast cancer. That changed with the introduction of 3-D mammography and with the Invenia™ Automated Breast Ultrasound System (ABUS). Together, these techniques significantly improve the detection of breast cancer, especially in women with dense breast tissue. The Breast Center at UT Health utilizes both of these advancements in screening.
