As leaders in pulmonary health, specialists at UT Health Northeast are dedicated to teaching children how to live with asthma. Every year, along with The Chest Foundation, we host the Texas Asthma Camp for Kids at Lake Tyler. We also provide the only mobile asthma clinic in our community.
Breath of Life Mobile Asthma Clinic
The Breath of Life Mobile is a large, custom-built clinic on wheels that is equipped with state-of-the-art technology. Our team of asthma specialists travels to different schools throughout Northeast Texas to test and treat asthma. To talk to someone about our mobile asthma clinic, call (903) 877-8925.
By hitting the road in the asthma van (as our patients call it), our experts have a greater reach to help children manage asthma. The team reviews patient history and performs a physical examination along with a breathing test. Children diagnosed with asthma will receive a comprehensive, individualized asthma management program as well as education on self-management so they can care for their asthma at home. Regular follow-up appointments will ensure that the plan is working. Our goal is to improve quality of life with results that may include:
- fewer missed school days due to asthma-related problems
- fewer asthma attacks
- reduced numbers of emergency room visits
- fewer admissions to a hospital
- significant improvement in their quality of life
