Lee Maranto is a certified oncology nurse with over 20 years of experience. Besides oncology, her expertise is also in hematology. Lee’s special interest in medicine includes treating malignancies and blood disorders. Even as a child, Lee dreamed of working in medicine and helping people. She gets to live her dream working in the Cancer Center and assisting patients through their cancer journey.
Psychiatry and Neurology
Dr. Matthews has practiced psychiatry for 20 years, working in both outpatient and institutional settings. He is board certified in psychiatry and neurology and completed a research fellowship at the National Institute of Mental Health, part of the National Institutes of Health. Dr. Matthews has also been a consultant on NASA studies of the effects of extended bed rest. His expertise is valuable to the acute, residential, and senior behavioral health program at UT Health, and the intensive outpatient program in Longview.
Dr. Mark McDonald brings his love of medicine and urgent care to the emergency room at UT Health Northeast. He graduated medical school from our sister institution UT Medical Branch and completed his family medicine residency here at UT Health.
Dr. Menard understands the concept of patient-centered care. He listens to his patients and their concerns. Dr. Menard is a homegrown family doctor—he completed his residency in family medicine here at UT Health. An example of his compassionate care includes helping local doctors take care of evacuees from 2008’s Hurricane Ike.
Dr. Tyrone Miller specializes in general and vascular surgery. He graduated with his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Midwestern University and Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his general and vascular surgery fellowships at Michigan State University, then fulfilled a one year endovascular surgery fellowship at the world famous Arizona Heart Institute in Phoenix.

Dr. Monique Mills sees patients at our North Tyler Clinic. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and is board certified in pediatrics. Her special interests include child advocacy as well as the evaluation and prevention of childhood obesity. She served on the board of the Texas Pediatric Society Foundation, a nonprofit foundation supporting initiatives that contribute to the health, safety, and welfare of children and adolescents.
