Dr. Wallace is internationally known for his expertise in successfully treating people with mycobacterial avium complex, or MAC, a rare but serious infectious lung disease. In fact, he and his research team developed the standard treatment for MAC. Dr. Wallace is ranked in the top one percent of physicians in his field by U.S. News and World Report magazine.
As part of our cardiology team, Dr. Kent Webb performs general surgery and he is a board certified vascular surgeon with over 20 years of experience. He completed medical school at Indiana University, residency at UT Southwestern in Dallas, and fellowship at the University of Tennessee Center for the Health Sciences.
As an electrophysiologist, Dr. Weiner analyzes the heart’s electrical system, then diagnoses and treats disturbances, or arrhythmias, in the heart’s rhythm. He specializes in a number of therapies, including implantable cardioverter defibrillators, pacemakers, and cardiac resynchronization therapy devices. Dr. Weiner also uses a technique called ablation to treat conditions such as ventricular tachycardia, atrial fibrillation, and supraventricular tachycardia.
Dr. Wells is board certified in radiology and has three decades worth of experience as a radiologist. With additional training in how to interpret medical images such as CT scans and MRIs, his special interests include mammography and women’s health.
Dr. Jeffrey Wherry is a psychologist who works with children, adolescents, and their families to provide hope and help for a healthier life. He specializes in treating the psychological symptoms associated with child sexual abuse. Dr. Wherry also has a special interest in post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), which is often misdiagnosed as ADHD, bipolar disorder, anxiety, and mood regulation problems. Dr. Wherry works alongside families as a “detective” to determine what is happening and finding a solution together. He see patients within the child and adolescent psychiatry clinic at UT Health.

Dr. Paul Wick specializes in adult and geriatric psychiatry and he cares for patients in our Tyler Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). He has a special interest in treating elderly and disabled patients who often have complex behavioral health issues. Dr. Wick has over 40 years of expertise and he is a Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association (APA). It’s rewarding for him to see patients recover from the suffering of mental, emotional and behavioral disorders. Dr. Wick is very involved with treatment and he enjoys coordinating care with other practitioners.
Dr. Robert Wieck is a board certified psychiatrist in our Adult Psychiatry Clinic. This field of medicine allows him to study the complexity of the brain and use his knowledge to help patients who are struggling with psychiatric illness. Dr. Wieck has a special interest in caring for patients who struggle with trauma-related symptoms and also exploring ways to help make people more resistant to life’s stresses. In his practice, Dr. Wieck believes that the best results are achieved with medication and talk therapy. He encourages patients to be open to all treatment options that may provide relief.

After serving in the United States Air Force for over 10 years, Dr. Ted Willis moved to Tyler in 2000 where he has been a leader in the field of radiology. With almost three decades of experience in interpreting medical images, he has a special interest in mammography and women’s health.

Dr. Kathryn Wortz graduated Magna Cum Laude from UCLA with a degree in psychology and earned her doctorate in clinical psychology from Texas Tech University. She is the behavioral science director and assistant professor within the Department of Family Medicine. When it comes to patient care, Dr. Wortz takes an integrated approach by collaborating with the patient and the patient’s doctor during each visit.
