After completion of his postdoctoral training, Dr. Tucker joined the faculty at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler as an Instructor of Biochemistry in 2009. He was then promoted to Assistant Professor of Cellular and Molecular Biology in 2010. Dr. Tucker received a Rising STARS Award from The University of Texas System in 2011.
Dr. Tucker’s research is focused on the role of disordered fibrin turnover on the progression of pleural lung disease. His current research focuses on the role of coagulation and fibrinolytic proteases on the progression pleural fibrosis. Dr. Tucker also studies the role of related signaling pathways on cellular plasticity and their contribution to pleural injury. His past research includes studies interrogating the role of uPAR and TF/TFPI in the progression of mesothelioma.
